  1. hi paul I no that in the cheeked factor it is said that doubling up it can lead to blindness in the chicks but this mutation is known for this ,but I thought that in any other colour any eggs laid this way then most of the chicks will die in the egg and only a small majority hatch ? richard
  2. hi paul none of my birds are double factor but im sure some people out will have them. I only put the double factor in as an alternative to the single factor the only other thing I didn't mention and should is that if any other colours chicks turn up in the nest other than I wrote then the parent birds will be split for other colours and you can throw the calculations away because any colour can turn up any time its hit and miss sometimes richard
  3. hi trevor at the moment ive got a fawn male paired to a g/c hen and I belive I should get from this pair 25%normal split fawn 25% fawn females 25%cheeked (sf)/fawn males 25%cheeked (sf) fawn females but if your fc is a double factor then you would get this 50%cheeked (sf)/fawn males 50%cheekd (sf) fawn females hope this helps Richard

  5. hi paulm sorry for mix up thought birds on bottom was its parents .yes it did have bb tail marking when a chich but looks more like ob tail markings now, weather its something this mutation does from time to time I have no idea but my fawn obbb hen still has the bb markings in its tail and on its wings could it be that theres more ob gene showing through at mo and when its fully through its moult then the bb side will show time will tell but its still a cracking bird richard
  6. nice chick deffo looks obbb more than its parents are parents ob split bb?because the male has ob tail markings cant see hen so cant comment my obbb fawn chick looks like yours aswell and shes from a deffo obbb pair richard
  7. it should show both genes but more orange on chest and head its tail marking are the same as a bb if this chick is a male I think it should have more colour orange than its dad fingers cross richard

    hi jon as you no im from Sheffield not to far away really im dabbling in grey and fawn cheeks, blackbreasted , and orangeblackbreasted I also keep grey pearl Bengalese I see you keep some nice birds im trying to split my obbbs up to try and get some obs as I like that variety and couldnt find any for sale this year hopefully I can add some more colours later I quite fancy some silvers and lightbacks or some blackface will have to see what I can get later in year. hope you are having a good season up to now mines been a mixed one many thanks for replying richard

    hi trevor thanks for that yes they do look a bit like yours but cant see any trace of faint cheek patches at moment co they will be white fawn cheeks then im just wondering if sell yours birds at Newark because that's were my cheeks came from and he was called trevor like you and from Norfolk aswell if so there your birds im breeding with many thanks for that if they are richard
