Hi Paul, super bird, is it normal/cfw split?Mark
  10. Those stats from last year seem impossible if it were not fact, 30 odd young and only 2 cocks, can anyone beat that!I have had 11 cfw so far 5 cocks and 6 hens, very sensible split.Mark

  14. Russia, that's a long way away. What Zebra colours do you have in Russia? Welcome to the forum.
  15. In the shows does it matter if when you put forward a pair of normals that the cock is split for anything, CFW,fawn etc or is this not considered. I would have thought a good pure normal cock that is buff coloured underneath would be the best. Fawn split shows itsself on the wing flight feathers i believe and CFW as more white underparts?thanksMark
  16. Nice one Trevor, look forward to some pics

    Cfw

Hi Lee, i live in Barrow upon Soar and i have only just set up last Nov. I have 10 pairs of cfw but they are breeding at the moment, they are exhibition size birds that i have bought from around the country. I am looking to show for the first time later in the year. Its a bad time to buy birds as most breeders are in the middle of breeding, March time may see some adult birds coming onto the market.Whereabouts do you live?. There seems a lot of newcomers setting up in our area in the last 6 months.Have you any zebs at all yet?regardsMark

    Hi !

    Welcome aboard Alex.
  21. Hi Jamie, welcome to the forum, exciting times for you, setting up is full of expectation, all the best.Mark
  22. Dave, when you say yellow feathered birds do you mean the tighter feathered less buff or do you mean the bird has a slight tinge of fawn/yellow. I have such a cock bird that has this slight tinge and wondered what it was about, there again i have another cock bird exactly the same type which is superbly marked and the white is white. So how do you sex cfw chicks in the nest, the darker the heads means it's a hen?
  23. No replies, does that mean no one really knows how to eradicate it, or is it pot luck. I have some cfw chicks a few days off fledging but their heads seem very dark compared to the rest of their feathers. Will this fade with age and the moult leaving just a few or are dirty heads identified this early on. I see recently Paulm has put up a photo of a cfw chick 2 days out of the nest and it's head although not spotless l;ooks clean. I have hens with varying degrees of dirty heads and a couple completely clean, do the pass the trait on.

From the picture it may be that the camera has caught the cheek feathers at a strange angle. What do you take your photos with Paul, nice clear images, please don't say you mobile phone!
  25. I expect my first nest to fledge next weekend, they are cfw but i don't suppose there is a hope in **** they will look like that!
