I joined the ZFS first, but only just. The ZFF has enabled me to progress so fast, in 2 and 1/2 months i have built my birdroom with indoor flights and breeding cages and setup with some nice birds from some of the top breeders and i am expecting my first eggs to hatch from 7 pairs next week.If everything goes ok i am looking to show for the first time at the ZFS clubshow 2012.By the sounds of things there are others on this site who are looking to start showing this year as well, lets all meet up as novices and do the ZFS show.Many thanks to all who have helped (so far) on this site.

Hi Les,welcome to the forum. 1972......that's a long break, i have just come back to them and i last had them in approx 1975. You will find big changes especially the colours and the size of some of the birds. I am sure someone will answer who will be able to help with some penguins.all the bestMark

Paul, what about the other way round, i have a sliver lightback hen. Cock options are CFW, Normal, Normal/CFW. Don't understand silvers properly.

Gary, what would you expect from a lightback cock to a cfw hen. For some reason it is not in the ZFS genetic mating list, also what does a cock lightback to fawn hen produce.thanks

My opinion, as a complete novice, it's a mess!

Video is a brilliant idea, for those like me that have a lot to learn it is really usefull, and i don't have to travel miles to see them.Heres a thing Paul, if you rated these youngsters at the age they are out of 10, what would you give them compared to the rest of your stud, if you see what i mean. Are these just average, rubbish or the creme de la creme? I have a feeling i know the answer.Mark B

Thanks Dave, just as i had hoped.If you wanted to darken the colours can you introduce normal colour, i beleive introducing fawn tends to make the white go fawnish.Sounds like i know what i am talking about!Mark

If you breed CFW to CFW do you always get CFW, what are the downsides if this is the case, do you loose colour?
