    Skin Colour

Steve, This is only possibly, one could be a grey penguin and the other a fawn penguin, Just a hunch that's all, Are the parents both penguin ? If so what colour ? Trevor
  2. All, Thought I'd share with you all my new additions I got from Newark on Sunday, I had these in mind before I went so to actually get some I'm well pleased, Hope you like them, Thanks for looking, Trevor http://i1177.photobucket.com/albums/x343/trm03/IMG_8235.jpg http://i1177.photobucket.com/albums/x343/trm03/IMG_8232.jpg
  3. Hi, Welcome to the ZFF, great team on here any questions fire away, Enjoy, Trevor
  4. Clare, Well what can I say other than you're spot on can't wait to see photo's of him fully coloured up, As Chris said did you try for him ? or is he aviary bred ? Well done for spotting this, Can't wait for next photo, Trevor
  5. Hi, Welcome to the forum, hope you enjoy your stay on here, Did you know that there's a sale at Newark on 9th Feb at the county showground, As you're from Lincoln not far for you to travel, I have a table there and I would be selling some BC males, Trevor
  6. Iain, Welcome to the ZFF, I bet it's great to get back into zeb's, Do you know of any other zeb breeders/clubs in Spain, Enjoy your stay on here, Trevor
  7. Sue, Yes you are spot on well done he's a Cream, If you want to breed him your best bet would be to put him with a Fawn hen, This should give you 50% Cream and 50% Fawn, I wouldn't try and pair him with another Cream cos this type is a dominant form and two dominants of the same type don't go well together, Hope this has helped you, Bye the way he looks a good zeb, Trevor
  8. James, Glad you're enjoying the forum, Congrats on your first chick hope all goes well, All the best for 2014 to you as well, Trevor
  9. Chris, Remember what I said to you a few months ago, Write info down as things happen because it will disappear from your brain, this young and split parents could be ideal further down the line, Records are invaluable !!! Trevor
  10. Chris, 11 out of 10 so you know what I think, Right up my street, well done, As for your other question my answer is no, only BB if it were BF as well it would have no different colouring on the cheek area just the body colour all over, Keep it up Chris, Trevor
  11. Emmy, I always put the females in first then introduce the males within the week, Could try that, You won't forget about the two females will you, there was me thinking I won't hear that again, Trevor
  12. Emmy, Get the bagpipes out they'll stand still then you can pick them up, Trevor
  13. Emmy, Could well be, Has she got spots on her flanks as in a male but more faintly, These are called ghost markings and that would tell you straight away that she's OBBB, Did you breed this ? Nice female though, Trevor
  14. Hi Sue, Nice male you've got there and to be honest I like him, so well done with your choice, As you said he's a BF that's spot on, now I think he's split for BB due to slight extended orange on the head, If he was a BFBB his tail markings would be vertical and not horizontal as the photo shows, Also he has oval spots on the flanks which also tells me that BB is involved, I'm almost certain that there's no OB in him because there in no third colour in the tail, If he showed OB so he would be a BFOB there would be no black, If it was me I would pair him the the BC female you've got, This then should give you:- 25% Normal split BCBB 25% BF split BCBB 25% BF split BC 25% Normal split BC Now if you're lucky enough and he's carrying BC You then have a 25% chance of getting a BFBC, Hope this has helped you, All the best with your breeding of him and please let us know your outcome, Trevor
  15. Baz, Good photo's, is that the same bird in each photo ? Trevor
  16. Michelle, First of all welcome to the forum, hope you enjoy your stay on here, We're all a great friendly bunch any questions no prob's someone will have the answer, As this is your first brood try not to interfere with the nest, I now it's hard and you're excited but try to leave them to their own ways, As the young are now hatched I would give them a mashed up hard boilded egg once every two/three days, one egg mashed up and put into a dish, Don't leave it in the dish for more than 24hrs in case it goes off, What colour are mum and dad ? About 12/14 day from hatching you should see them looking out, Hope this has helped you, Keep us all posted with what happen and poss' any photo's off the family when they're out, Nice one, Trevor Ps Happy Birthday from the Uk
  17. All, I was working near where my seed shop today and as I was out that way i might as well get some seed, went in looked at zeb's and ka ching what do I see this lovely male a BFBC, didn't even think about it that's mine and thank you. He's now happy as can be in my flight, Hope you all like him as much as I do, Trevor http://i1177.photobucket.com/albums/x343/trm03/IMG_7939.jpg http://i1177.photobucket.com/albums/x343/trm03/IMG_7940.jpg
  18. Shane, Contact Paulm he's up with sex-linked types, Trevor
  19. Chris, I reckon it will be a male split for LB pied anything else should be BCLB females split pied, Well done you're well ahead of me now, Trevor
  20. Rich, If you did this ( GC split Fawn x Fawn) you should get :- 12.5% GC split Fawn males 12.5% GC hens 25% FC 25% Fawn 12.5% Normal split Fawn males 12.5% Normal hens So you would get the best of both worlds GC and FC young, Hope this helps you, Trevor
  21. Colly, I would stick with Isabel to be honest, But this is just my choice at the end of the day it's your choice that matters, If you did keep the two Isabels together you should get:- 50% Isabel & 50% BF Isabel, Hope this helps, Trevor
  22. Clare, Well done I'm really pleased for you, You don't see many of these about and I think the main reason is time, But once you start getting results then it's all been worth it, Please keep me posted with any news on your progression with this, Nice one !!! Trevor
  23. Jools, Welcome to the ZFF, just fire away with anything you wish to know, someone will always be here to help, Have a good 2014, Trevor
  24. Hi Rich, Both males are GC's, but (there's always a but) because you've bred a GC with a Fawn you are reducing the GC colour over the body, Please don't take this wrong if you want GC's always breed with a normal grey bird, Golden rule Grey with grey and fawn with fawn, So if you want FC = FC x Fawn or visa versa, Now when these two males are ready to breed put them with grey hens, What I said here comes from my own experience in this type, If you would like to look at my gallery you will see some that I bred a few years ago, All the best Rich, Any further info i'll try and help with a positive answer, Trevor
  25. Hi Clare, Looks like a silver now to me, so you must have silvers in the aviary yes ? Trevor
