  1. Pete, On the info here I would reckon that you should get:- 25% Normal Hens 25% Normal Males 25% Normal Males / Fawn Males 25% Fawn Hens This also would be the same for the CFW split, only just omit Fawn and replace with CFW Hope this is ok, Trevor
  2. Wayne, Go to www.efinch.com lots of photo's and info to what you need, Hope this helps you, Trevor
  3. Fabian, Welcome to the forum, I'm sure you will enjoy it on here, Is there a zebra finch club/society in Barbados ? Look forward to some of your photo's of your zeb collection, All the best for Christmas and a Happy New Year, Trevor
  4. Hi Tommy, Good to hear from you, I'm sure you will enjoy yourself on the ZFF site, very friendly on here, Always good to hear from someone outside the uk, The masker zebra finch is called a Blackface over here, It would be good to see some photo's of your collection as well, especially as I'm interested in the colours you have over there, All the best to you and your girlfriend for Christmas, Look forward to hearing from you again, Trevor
  5. Chris, You're not bad at guessing are you ? Trevor
  6. All, Now all my zeb's are outside they are getting plenty off fresh air, The young are moulting out well, my back yard has tiny feathers all over the place, I keep asking my wife to sweep up but the answer is no so I have to do it Seriously though looking in there today and this male sat there a BFBCLB pied really pleased with this one, (black flanks as well) Bonus! I had a 1 in 8 chance of getting one and finally got one in the last brood of the season from the pair, Comments welcome, Thanks for looking, Trevor
  7. Dave, Happy Birthday, Hope you have a good day, All the best, Trevor
  8. Chris, She's deffo not a BCBB fawn due to her tail 100% The youngster in photo will be a male or a hen split for BCBB, and you should always get fawns out, Well done good start there, Trevor
  9. Clare, Deffo a male then ? Looks to me from this angle a Grey Isabel, But could be wrong here, Another pic would be good, Trevor Ps, Parents please if you can.
  10. Hi Dave, Happy Birthday mate, have a good day!! Trevor
  11. Buster, Welcome to the ZFF, Enjoy, Trevor
  12. Gary, Two good young'uns there, I reckon the youngster with the colour is a male as you said, Did you breed many GC's this year ? Trevor
  13. Dan, Good looking young there, bet your chuffed with them, Trevor
  14. Steve, They are BC normal both of them, Just as confirmation look at the tail and it should be striped horizontal, Hope this helps, Trevor
  15. All, Thank you very much for the birthday wishes, Had a good but quiet night out with the family, meal in pub, Thanks again ! Trevor
  16. All, Just thought I'd share these two hens which were cage bred earlier in the year, moulted out and here they are, The hen facing the right, just notice green ring it's a BFBCBB first hen I've bred + there is also another one which is awaiting the moult, So that's two I've bred this season, well pleased with them, The other photo is of a BFBC, once again from the shed and moulted out, so many of this type of hen are disregarded and are mistaken for BC, Note the grey colour in front of the beak (lores) a BC is white there, Hope you like them, the BFBCBB hen is a bit rare as a high % of breeding for triple blacks you do get males, Enjoy, Trevor http://i1177.photobucket.com/albums/x343/trm03/IMG_7861.jpg http://i1177.photobucket.com/albums/x343/trm03/IMG_7863.jpg Ps, If anyone has a black type hen and not sure of type, here is a piece of info to id these black type hens here we are :- BC white in front of cheek patch stripe tail BF grey in front of tear mark stripe tail BB light colour near eye to beak no tear or cheek patch vertical stripe tail BFBC grey in front of cheek patch stripe tail BCBB very close to BB but slighter dark marking where cheek patch would be vertical stripe tail BFBB as BB but grey to the beak and edging to wing feathering vertical stripe tail BFBCBB as above but more grey down breast front and no edging to wing feathering vertical stripe tail Hope this was of use.
  17. Dan, Hope you had a good'un, apologies for missing the day, Trevor
  18. Hi, Good choice there got black flanks, nice one well done, Trevor
  19. Stephen, Not with this pairing , only if you breed the split young with another split white young (diff nest) or if your male is split for white. Trevor
  20. Stephen, 100% Normal split White Hope this helps, Trevor
  21. Just as an idea which I use as you're ready to compose pic, just make a faint squeaking noise through your mouth, this will give you a few seconds to take pic as zeb will freeze because of the different sound. Trevor
  22. Adam, I've done this, if you go to my gallery (trevs zeb's) there are some photo's on there of young from the pairing you are talking about. There is also a photo of a white bodied male with cheek markings on a nest box in aviary he is one that coloured up the best. (he's gone to the zeb's in the sky) Hope this helps, Trevor
  23. Clare, Nice little chap there, looks as if there's some orange on it, The other one looks as if it's a fawn, but the grey hmmm! not sure could be ob grey, Well done, bet you're chuffed, Trevor
  24. Stephen, Welcome to the zff, hope you enjoy your stay on here, Trevor
  25. Clare, Nice one, they look like 3 different types the one on the left look like OB Is, Look forward to the pic's when they come out, don't forget ! Trevor
