    Hi All

Hi Rob, Welcome to the forum, I'm not to far away in Hastings. Hope you enjoy the forum Clare
  2. Hi Clive, Welcome to the forum. Clare
  3. Hi Jon, Sorry to hear that. It has been very hot and I have had my shed door open every day for them. I'm pretty sure if I didn't do this I would have lost a lot of chicks. Hopefully they will go down again and be successful for you. All the best Clare
  4. Have a normal cock just moulted but he has no breast bar stripes only they do get darker towards where the breast bar should be. Is there anything that would have caused this or just a one off. Tad confused by this!
  5. Hi Jon, That's a nice silver cock, the cheeks should match the flanks for colour when they moult through. This is just an observation I have made from my own silvers though. Hope they do well for you. My lightest silver has chicks at last can't wait to see the results, I'm really hoping they are like him white cheeks and a much smoother overall colour. Clare
  6. Hi Kerry, As Trevor said she is indeed a dominant silver hen. There is a photo of a Florida Silver ( it looks to be a silver Isabel) on efinch, take a look it might help you work out what your hen is. Look under dominant or recessive silver on their website. Hi Jon, My Silvers this year are darker than last year, except the hen, the two cocks also produced are quite dark, I also have a new chick just fledged not sure of sex yet. Will post a pic when a bit older seems to be quite light, from one of last years silver hens will be interesting to see how it turns out as this is the first chick to be born, where one of the parents is silver, the other chick in the nest is normal from a BC Silver hen & Normal Cock pairing. Hope all goes well for you Clare
  7. Found a better pic for the colour.
  8. Sorry here we go re loaded
  9. My First Silver hen of the year. Still moulting through but nearly there. http://i880.photobucket.com/albums/ac9/Claretrx7/bth_newZebs03072013078_zps2cd30ea6.jpg http://i880.photobucket.com/albums/ac9/Claretrx7/bth_newZebs03072013060_zps4755d86c.jpg The Cheek patches fooled me a bit, thought she was a cock for a while

    Hi

HiJoao, Welcome to the forum. Clare
  11. Hi Andy, The spots on the flanks are elongated, it doesn't show them that well in the pics. But generally if the spots are elongated the zeb should be split for BB. The breast bar can be larger to. Hope this helps Clare
  12. Picked up this normal and I think split BB today. Wasn't looking to but any new zebs ( got to many already ) But he really did catch my eye He has settled in well and fed immediately. Really pleased with him
  13. Hi Keiron, Wish you all the best and hope they make the show bench. I have a silver Hen comming through at the moment, and she is also showing cheek patches, 3 months old and only just moulting into adult colours. So I now have 4 silver Cocks & 3 Silver hens, plus my BC silver hen has chicks so looking forward to see what that brings. Clive, Need to ask why do you say Lightback silver? Clare
  14. Without a doubt Trevor, Its taken me along time to get this. I was breeding splits this year in the hope I could produce some next season, so I'm extremly happy about this. She is a couple of months old now, I waited until certain until posting. But one good thing I have plenty of unrelated split BB cocks to choose from, maybe even a full BB by the end of season CLare
  15. Well I have finally managed to breed a BB Hen. Aviary Bred so not 100% on parentage but I have a good idea, naughty hen playing away. In this instance good girl
  16. Hi Richard, Looking forward to seeing them fully moulted. I can guess about the pics, mine very rarely keep still. Clare
  17. Hi Sandeep, Welcome to the Forum. Clare
  18. Hi Trevor, That does make sense. I'm looking to get black flank markings with my BC's. This year they have been showing more black in thier flanks than previous, but I have noticed that my BC LB hen shows black flanks. So I'm thinking that if I breed her with the best of my BC Cocks I should be able to increase the black in the flanks. I hope you achieve BFBC CFW It really does seem like it will be a stunning Zeb! I think that the Black & White Combinations are stunning in contrast. It will be very interesting to see. Clare
  19. Hi Trevor, Even better when its from your own stock. Thats what I have been doing, Its slow going but am starting to see results. Will that be BFBC CFW that you are hoping to get next? That sounds like it could be quite a stunning combination. Clare
  20. Hi Richard, Excellent Photo's, how did you get them to stay still. They are lovely Chicks. Please post pics when fully moulted, its such a nice combination. Clare

    Bc Fawn Update

Hi Terry, Your Youngsters look great. This is my first BC Fawn, I knew one of the parents carried BC but not the other. So this was quite a surprise for me. He's colouring up nicely but will be a couple more weeks yet. Not quite sure what to pair with yet, but I have bred a fawn/BC hen this year thats unrelated so could be a good match for him. Will post pics once he has coloured up fully for you to compare. Clare

    Unusual For Us!

Hi Nick, Cracking Cock zeb, wish mine turned out half that well. But must admit I do prefer other colours. Clare
  23. Hi Trevor, Great looking Zeb. You must be thrilled, after 3 seasons to finally achieve you goal. Clare
