  1. Try not to be too involved let the pearants s do there job. Good seed, emp or another egg food. Maybe mashed up hard boiled egg. Fresh greens. Just be there if mum an dad need a hand
  2. it's a show fault... I have one just the same he has good flanks/chest bar and lovely head and is an almost perfect D shape but his cheek patches are week. I am puting him down with a nice long hen with very dark tear marks to see if it helps with the cheek patches in the chicks..... I also think you can get a European CFW that does have lighter check patches.... I am sure someone on here with more experience then us two will be able to shed some light as I think the European type bird is lighter all over
  3. such is life in keeping these wonderful little birds. I am a big believer that it's natures way. on the rings front remember that you will not get ZFS till the 6th Jan. an zebra chicks need to be rung at 7-9 days. so the ones you have hatched now you wont get 2016 zfs on them.

    a newbies view

well done an good luck. and same as above hope to see you at some of the shows. pairing up is difficult !!!!!. you think you have made your choice then you think well I will just try him with her just for a look and you have to start all over again. I have changed my mind 3 times already. then yesterday my farther came(ex champion from yester year) we went through my pairs!!!! an yes you guessed it he talked me into something different. I think the main thing for us newbies is just to get some chicks on a perch. Andy
